Venice, Italy –

You’ve got to see this city if you haven’t already. Everything is really, REALLY expensive (like 23 euros for a small bottle of shaving cream), but it’s worth a visit. I fed the pigeons in San Marco Square. It was really fun, and one of them pooped on me, which is supposed to be a sign of good luck. Verdict is not yet out on whether or not this was good or bad. In fact, I think they might tell that to tourists so that they don’t freak out.

Apart from pigeon poop, Venice was fun even though there is nothing extraordinary about the place. It’s just fun to see. I woke up after a day of merely strolling around the city to soak it all in only to take an early train to Vienna, and it’s raining outside. I must, of course, walk to the train station with my huge pack on my back in the pouring rain. Cold and sinus here I come! Then this old Italian man walks in with a plastic bag around his head. “Do you need this bag” he gestures. VA BENE!! I’m telling you — Everything manages to work itself out in Italy.

I’ll leave you with that for now. I’ll catch you up on the rest of my journey later. Au revoir from Bordeaux!
